About Us
Founded in 1960, Spurwink Services began as a residential program for adolescent boys on Riverside Street in Portland. Over time, the agency grew to meet the needs of the people of Maine by developing a wide array of community-based mental and behavioral health services for children, adults, and families. Today, Spurwink Services is a nationally accredited treatment facility that has gained the respect and admiration of state leaders, mental health providers, communities and families throughout Maine. The agency employs 850 staff and serves over 4,500 individuals each year who face emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges.
The agency's services extend from Kittery to Skowhegan and are focused on three major program areas:
