The Granite State HR Conference brought together HR professionals and business leaders throughout New England. University of New Hampshire Fall Career Fair

The University of New Hampshire Fall Career Fair took place Monday, October 19 at the Campus Memorial Union.

The annual event, held in partnership with the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire, provided an opportunity for UNH undergraduate and graduate students to meet employers face-to-face and interview for potential jobs and internships

Approximately 1,000 students were expected to meet with the 85 exhibiting companies.

JobsInNH.com representatives were on hand to meet with students and alumni to answer questions about interview techniques, searching for a job in the current economic market, and how to best utilize the services that JobsInNH.com offers.

WMUR Project Economy Job Fair and
Career Expo

More than 200 exhibitors attended the event spread throughout three buildings at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. WMUR assembled a team of state and local partners that brought together employers and job seeker.

The day consisted of networking, workshops and career connections. Southern New Hampshire University and its state colleagues joined to present resume writing, interviewing and job readiness workshops as part of the day's offerings.

JobsInNH.com was there to research employers needs and to introduce job seekers to the resources on our site.

2009 Human Capital Summit at the
Granite State HR Conference

The 2009 Granite State HR Conference's Human Capital Summit was a booming success, despite the sluggish economic climate. JobsInNH.com is very proud to have both sponsored and presented at this year's conference, which boasted attendance by nearly 300 HR professionals, more than 40 exhibitors, and 10 different breakout sessions offering 6.25 HRCI re-certification credits and 2.5 strategic HR credits. Truly, this event brought together the best in the human capital space and provided professional development by the industries thought leaders.

As a major conference sponsor for the second straight year, JobsInNH.com took advantage of this great opportunity to spend some quality time with members of New Hampshire's HR community. The staff at JobsInNH.com were grateful for the warm welcome and active interest by the attendees, and spent a great deal of time discussing the trends in the labor market. In the opinion of Greg Nolin of Northway Bank, "It was a very worthwhile day and contained many good points to consider for use back at the workplace."

Mt. Washington Valley Chamber 11th Annual Business to Business Expo

The Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce 11th Annual B2B Expo 2009 is the only regional business event in Northern New Hampshire where you can network, buy, sell and learn in one place and in one day!

Topics of discussion included smart marketing strategies in today's economy, the benefits of event marketing, social media, and using the downturn in the economy as a business advantage rather then a hindrance. As the media continues to show the horrors of today's economy, NH businesses are still upbeat and excited about their companies and are eager to reach new markets. Business Expo 2009 was a "Go Green" event which informed attendees of tips that can make their workplaces more resource efficient and utilize eco friendly strategies.

Highlights included the Wine Thymes cheese and wine tasting, Say It In Stitches unique business products, Sur Smoothies delicious smoothies, the comfy Adirondack chairs, and Cold River vodkas Blueberry Tart recipe.

MacBook Contest Winner Announced

Jennifer Gosselin of Vermont - our lucky MacBook contest winner - is happy to report that she recently landed a job with a former employer. Back when she was actively looking for work, Gosselin used JobsInVT.com daily, performing job searches by county.

"We didn't have a computer in the house and we've always wanted a laptop. It was so nice to win this, especially right before the Christmas holiday!" Jennifer said.

Gosselin said she really appreciated how easy the site was to use and how quickly she could see all of the jobs listed in her county. She stated she also liked the fact that many employers would keep job information on the site for more than just a few days or a few weeks which allowed her to look back at jobs she had previously applied to, for quick reference.

JobsInNH.com 2008 Career Fair Attracts Great Local Candidates

More than 300 job seekers attended the 2008 JobsInNH.com Career Fair at the Executive Court Banquet Facility in Manchester. This was the second Career Fair hosted by JobsInNH.com this year, and proved to be another successful opportunity for great local businesses to connect with qualified local job seekers.

On display were nearly 50 of the region's best employers promoting their career opportunities and looking for their next great employees. This event, presented in partnership with the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Fidelity Investments, Sovereign Bank, and Dartmouth Hitchcock Concord, was heavily promoted through multiple radio stations, on campus at local colleges, through local trade associations, and on JobsInNH.com.

All types of career opportunities were available from a wide array of companies, including Parkview Medical Center, Concord Group Insurance, Blended Solutions, Macy's East, PC Connection, and Sage Laboratories. The employers were very impressed with the quality of job seekers who came through; with 27 of the 30 companies that submitted feedback forms stating that they found potential candidates during the event! This event reinforced JobsInNH.com's position as the state's most effective local employment resource. With more than 3,500 current in-state career opportunities posted on the website, www.jobsinnh.com provides access to more local jobs than any other resource. Learning And Growing At The 2008 Granite State HR Conference

JobsInNH.com was a Major Conference Sponsor for 10th annual 2008 Granite State HR Conference, held in Manchester. Jason Blais, Tom Hinman, Valerie Fillio, and Caleb Wolfe all represented JobsInNH at this energized conference, which included a return of the "Amazing Face Reader".

The topics of this conference ranged from becoming a strength-based business, to how to deal with new legal issues affecting the employment sector, to the state's new 55% initiative. More than 400 HR professionals from across the state were in attendance to stay current on important issues, learn new best practices, and network with their counterparts.

New Hampshire's Largest Job Fair In 2008, From New Hampshire's #1 Job Board

The 2008 New Hampshire Job Fair, held at the Wayfarer Convention Center in Bedford on March 25th, showed the largest job fair attendance in New Hampshire this year. Hosted by JobsInNH.com and Nassau Broadcasting, in partnership with NH Works and the Greater Nashua Chamber, the job fair filled 73 employer booths and attracted more than 1,000 job seekers.

"We're very pleased with the turnout, and have had tremendously positive feedback from both employers and job seekers," Jason Blais, Field Operations Manager for JobsInTheUS.com, said. JobsInTheUS is the parent company of JobsInNH.com, New Hampshire's largest job board. "Bringing recruiters and job seekers together at this type of event really reinforces the impact of our local focus, which is something we are truly proud of. The employers were very satisfied and the job seekers found great local career opportunities. It was a great event to be involved with."

Current openings with participating employers spanned more than 70 different career fields, with more than 80% of the jobs being full-time.

In a JobsInNH.com job fair poll, 62% of attendees ranked local online job boards as the most effective method of finding a job, 53% said that "advancement opportunities" was the most important job feature to look for during a job search and nearly half (47%) had never attended a job fair before.

One New Hampshire jobs seeker summed it up saying, "Thank you for presenting a professional atmosphere for those people looking for quality employment. The experience was very useful and I will definitely return for the next fair!"
